Realtek Showcases Real-time Management Technology
HSINCHU, Taiwan and Las Vegas. –April 28, 2008 – One of the world’s leading network and computer peripheral IC providers, Realtek Semiconductor Corp., today announced that it will highlight its Ethernet products in a demonstration of DASH compliant remote network management in the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) booth #437 at the Microsoft Management Summit 2009 (April 27 ~ May 1, 2009) at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Realtek’s Ethernet controllers are designed to meet today’s demands not only for higher performance and lower power consumption, but also for easy remote management,” said Realtek’s Executive Vice President Jessy Chen. “Realtek is pleased to provide quality components that meet the criteria for DASH compliant remote network management”.
DASH (Desktop and mobile Architecture for System Hardware) is a suite of specifications based on the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) web services-based standard. The DASH Initiative strives to promote the DASH standard in the industry and enable vendors to implement compliant, interoperable DASH solutions. DASH compliant products, e.g., Chipset + NIC + BIOS, from different vendors will operate together to enable secure, in-band, out-of-band, and remote management of desktop and mobile systems via web-based tools based on the standard DASH SDK.
“The geographic spreading out of companies has led to a greater need for remote management capabilities,” said Winston Bumpus, DMTF president. “Products implementing DASH enable interoperable management solutions that allow for low-cost management across networks, offering increased efficiency while maximizing availability. We’re very pleased to invite Realtek to join us to demonstrate their DASH products at MMS”.
